Location

Boreland is set on a hill surrounded by 117 acres of wild and beautiful land. With unobstructed views down to Loch Tay, fields filled with animals and rewilding projects galore – it’s all about a vibe of slow and sustainable adventure.

Just two hours from Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Inverness – we’re quite literally in the centre of Scotland. With access to mountains, lochs, great little towns and everything you need to take a well deserved holiday.

Nearby towns

On our doorstep, you’ll find Kenmore, a small picturesque village that’s super popular for activities on Loch Tay. VisitScotland has a great blog where you can read about this gem of a place.

Then there’s Aberfeldy, a short 15 minute drive away from Boreland. It’s the biggest town near us with plenty of local shops and places to eat.

Pitlochry sits on the River Tummel about 45 minutes drive from us. It’s a well-known hub for tourists and locals alike. It’s also home to the Pitlochry Festival Theatre, salmon ladder, and the fabulous Enchanted Forest event.

And remember, if you ever fancy leaving Boreland for the day or an evening out, we can help organise transport. Just drop us a message at bookings@borelandlochtay.co.uk

Walks to inspire everyone

Highland Perthshire is known as a centre of hillwalking. The scenery is out of this world with the majesty of the River Tay, ancient forests, rolling mountains and beautiful glens. There’s something for everyone.

Find out more about walks in Loch Tay, Glen Lyon, and Aberfeldy.

Bag a Munro (or two!)

Much like my father-in-law who has climbed every Munro in Scotland (that’s 282 btw!), you can absolutely take your fitness to a whole new level with a walk/climb/jog up some nearby mountains.

Schiehallion at 3,553-foot high is well-known as one of the easiest to climb in Scotland. The views are something else – totally out of this world. You can even do this one in a morning and be back in your hot tub by lunch. Go, go, go!

Ben Lawers at 3,984ft is so close to 4,000ft that at one time, a cairn was built to try and get it there. It’s the highest peak in the National Nature Reserve and a true beauty of a mountain.

Bonus points go to anyone that spotted the inspiration behind the names of some of our self-catering lodges.
